Recipe Area

The recipe area controls the actual order and flow of the script. It outlines what will occur, in what order, and using what table to external files. The application provides up to 14 processing steps any one of which can be selected to perform any of the particular tasks. It is up to the user to select these steps in some logical order. The specifics of the processing steps will be discussed next. Here, the overall controls are outlined.

1Status Area

Status Area The status areas provide two items of information when the program is running. First, it provides a running time line showing how low the step has taken. Second, it provides a clickable icon with a status report should the step produce any errors or warnings. This icon is in the form of a round question mark. A check mark is used if the step is completed without incident.

2Step Enable Switch

Step Enable Switch The enable switch turns the entire step ON or OFF. Use this as a master control for each step to disable it when not needed.

3Step Name

Step Name This button, when pressed, causes that step to execute. Normally you would only manually press it when debugging your script (when you press the GO button at the bottom of the page, then all the active steps are executed in turn for you). The label of the button can be changed by the overall formatting style changes and it is typically used to describe the step.

4Process Step Selector

Proces Step Selector This drop drown menu selects which of the processing steps will be executed in this step of the recipe.

5Section Label

Section Label This drop drown menu selects what label will be used in the created section of the step. Many processing steps create numbered entries and this label will form the root of any such label.  For example, if the menu selection is the text string "a" the entries will be created as a1, a2, a3, etc.

6File Name

File Name This control allows entering a file name for those process steps that require the use of an external file. The B (Browse...) button bring up the normal file open Dialog to assist the user. This control is often used for included files and is displayed only when such a file is needed.

7Table Name

Table Name This control allows selecting a table name for those process steps that require the use of a database table. Often the nominal table name is pre-selected. This is often used for database tables rendered into sections in the final document, and is displayed only when such a table is needed.
