Quick-Edit Text Table Entries...

This dialog is displayed by selecting the "Misc. Text" button on the Main Window Screen. Note that the Misc Text button is only enabled when the Read-Only check box is unchecked (allowing you to change records).

The Quick Text Editor provides a rudimentary way to edit the various textual tables found in the ITS database and used to support the standards production process. The Dialog presents a simple list of entries and the text associated with each, where the user can edit the entry as needed.

The labels volume-map figure title and figure path appears when the selected table has this content.  You may edit these simple string when needed.  Another label and text (Used In) displays an outdated form of volume mapping and is shown for information only.  If is up to you to ensure that the path and file you enter resolves to a valid file.  If non is found by 1st Word an error note will be issued where the figure would be displayed.

Remember that each volume map string consists of a sequence of two digit number for the volumes, separated by commas and NOT the name of the volumes.  The value "00" means present in all volumes.

This editor is only active when you are in the read-write mode; its button is disabled when in read-only mode.  Generally
Data Users would not need to use this editor, only Data Stewards.

The MiscText Table       Each database files has a collection of miscellaneous text terms which are used to hold section headings, titles, boilerplate text, and other various things about the final document. This table is also use to hold meta-data which is common to the entire database, such as the default FADD value and the revision values.

The User Settings    Table This file is unique to each user and there is only one. It is fairly new in terms of its deployment and over time is expected to hold preferences and privileges for each user.
